The main reason for this crazy weekend trip to Hong Kong was to try out Cathay Pacific First Class. A huge part of the experience is their lounges. I actually went to the airport more than SIX hours ahead of my flight time to enjoy as many lounges as I can. First on the lounges list was the incredible Cathay Pacific The Wing First Class Lounge. The lounge is located directly past security to the left.

As soon as I walked into the lounge, I found this very swanky champagne bar with red leather couches. I sat there for a while and enjoyed a glass of Veuve Clicquot Rose.

Shortly after, I asked if there’s a cabana available. I knew coming in that there are only 8 cabanas in the lounge and they can get booked very quickly. That’s why I came to the airport very early. Luckily, there was a cabana available right away, so I refilled my champagne glass and headed to the cabana.

The hallway to the cabanas is very interesting and dark.

Now, I’ve seen tons of pictures of these cabanas before. However, walking into one in real life is insane. The concept of having such a place to relax, take a bath, take a shower before a flight is ridiculous lol 🙂 You get an hour an a half to use the cabana which is more than enough time.

Outside the cabana area, there’s this wall full of magazines and newspapers. There’s also these cool red leather seats where you can sit and read.

The main seating area of the lounge is pretty spacious and airy with nice views of the airport’s airside.

There’s also a pretty nicely designed bar with plenty of drink options.

I didn’t get a chance to experience the food at the Wing First class lounge. I saved my appetite for the Pier Lounge which I will be reviewing soon.

Cathay Pacific The Wing First Class Lounge Bottom Line:

The Cathay Pacific The Wing First Class Lounge is my first experience at a true “first class” lounge. Unlike the bare bones Korean Air First Class Lounge, the wing lounge is incredible. I could’ve probably spent 4 hours easily there without being bored. This is the kind of lounge where I recommend arriving early at the airport for. The cabana experience is incredible, the champagne and liquor collection is top notch. The whole experience feels more like a fancy NYC hotel than an airport lounge.
