After enjoying the cabanas at Cathay Pacific’s The Wing First Class Lounge, it was time to head to The Pier First Class Lounge. You can find The Pier on Level 6, Terminal 1 near gates 63 which is at the other end of the terminal from the Wing Lounge. There’s actually a one way train you can take instead of walking. I took the escalators down to The Pier’s entrance.

Again, like I said about The Wing lounge, these lounges feel more like hotels than airport lounges. I mean look at this hallway here.

As soon as I walked in, I headed straight to the spa…. yes I said spa…. at an airport lounge 🙂 To make reservation for a complimentary 15 minute foot massage. The wait time was about an hour and a half and I got a buzzer to notify me when it’s time for my massage. In the meantime, I was getting hungry so I went to the Pier restaurant at the end of the hallway. This is a full service restaurant with an a la carte menu and it also has a full bar.

I started with the Wonton with Noodles in Soup which was delicious.

For the main course, I ordered the braised beef cheek. I can’t even explain how tender and full of flavor this dish was. It was incredible.

After my nice lunch, my massage buzzer didn’t go off yet. I figured I’d go wait in one of the private day suites…. crazy I know. “Private day suites” *facepalm* 🙂 This is the hallway to the day suites where you can close the curtains for privacy.

These day suites are very cozy and comfortable and come with incredible views that any aviation geek would enjoy. I was lucky to be sitting right across from a beautiful British Airways A380.

A little while later the buzzer went off and it was time for my massage. It was very nice and relaxing especially after a day and a half of walking all over Hong Kong.

I didn’t spend much time elsewhere in the lounge, but I quickly checked the other areas.
This is the iconic horseshoe shaped bar.

It has a nice and spacious seating area around it full of very comfortable chic furniture.

There’s also this small pantry room where you can help yourself to some pastries, snacks and some drinks.

Cathay Pacific The Pier First Class Lounge Bottom Line:
The Cathay Pacific The Pier First Class Lounge is purely incredible. Amazing delicious food at a full service restaurant, 15 minute complimentary massages, private day suites with beautiful views and much more. It was such an amazing experience to enjoy both, the Wing and the Pier lounges in one day. Honestly, I wouldn’t be able to pick one over the other. If you happen to be flying Cathay Pacific First Class out of Hong Kong, I really recommend arriving at the airport 5-6 hours in advance to really enjoy both lounges.
