HOTEL REVIEW: Constance Halaveli Maldives
This is an overdue review of one of the best hotels I ever stayed at. Constance Halaveli Maldives was the hotel we stayed at on our honeymoon in May of 2012. I have never heard about this brand of hotels until when I was looking to book the honeymoon a few months in advance. I got in touch with a travel agent in the Maldives and I emailed her what we were looking for in the hotel we want to stay at for our honeymoon and she responded with several options. Once I checked out the website of Constance Halaveli, I was instantly sold.

The luxurious experience started as soon as we reached the Air Taxi lounge dedicated for guests headed to Constance Halaveli.

We were offered some very refreshing beverages and snacks, which were very handy after a 24 hour trip from New York.
Shortly after we were directed to the taxi seaplane that was going to take us to our hotel.

It was about a 20 min trip from the Male, Maldives to our hotel where we landed by a dock in the middle of the ocean. Once we landed, a boat was already on its way to come pick us up to take us to the hotel reception.

After checking in we were taken to our water villa on a golf cart.

On the outside, the water villas don’t seem all that special or amazing. But once we walked inside, it was a different story. The villas are very spacious, and comfortable and give a sense of simple luxury.

WiFi in the room was very good and the TV also doubled as a computer with internet access
The villa had plenty of mood lighting controls indoors and outdoors.

The food at Constance Halaveli was incredible. Whether it was from room service, the breakfast buffet, or any of the hotel restaurants, Jahaz, Jing and Meeru. They were all amazing and delicious and very flavorful.

The hotel offers some excursions that you can pay for. Such as, visiting a local village and a bunch of different water related activities. And you can also rent any non-motorized water equipment for free such as paddle boat, wind surf, kayaks, standup paddle boards and more. We only did the snorkeling excursion and took the paddle boat for a quick ride then decided to spend most of our time there between the beach, pool, spa and restaurants 🙂

On the last night of our stay we decided to book a private dinner on the beach where they set up a table for two the by the water and a butler serves a seven course dinner. Unfortunately, there was some light rain that night. As a back up plan they set up our dinner in the private villa which costs a small fortune per night. Our butler gave us a tour of the villa before we sat down for dinner.

Bottom Line:
Constance Halaveli is a terrific honeymoon spot for those who are looking for relaxation, privacy and outstanding service. The service was impeccable, everyone was so nice and sweet and eager to offer assistance with whatever we needed.
