The Freedom card is a great sidekick to the Chase Sapphire Preferred card and the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card because it allows you to combine your points and then transfer them to airline and hotel programs which gives you better value per point. If you use the points for cash back, you’ll only get 1 cent/point in value. However, when you redeem your points for travel with Ultimate Rewards transfer partners, you can get a much higher value per point.

Having a $0 annual fee card like the Freedom card is not only great for how rewarding it is. It is also great for your credit score. Since it is a $0 fee card, you can keep it open forever which increases the average age of your accounts. This is one of the fundamental factors that affect your credit score.
