Trip Report: Athens Royal Olympic Hotel Review

We arrived in Athens from Paris at around 10:00AM. Athens Royal Olympic Hotel is located in the heart of down town, about 40 minutes from the Airport. We got to the hotel much earlier than our check-in time which is supposed to be 3:00PM. While waiting for the room, we decided to leave our bags with the concierge and walk around town to grab lunch. By the time we came back it was around 5:00PM. In our second attempt to check-in; we were told we were upgrade to the Athenian Panorama room because they ran out of Deluxe rooms.

We took the elevator up to our room which was located on the first floor. Once you enter the room, there’s a large luggage storage area to the left that can be closed by a curtain. I thought that was a cool idea in order not look at the luggage mess.

Across from the luggage area is a large bathroom that definitely has a royal feel. It’s all covered in marble, mirrors and gold!

Once you get out of the little hallway that houses the luggage area and the bathroom; you come to the LARGE bedroom, living room and office area. It was massive!

And of course, the huge panoramic window that overlooks Temple of Olympian Zeus.

All the lights in the room and the blinds are controlled by buttons that are located on the side of both nightstands. I had too much fun with these blinds. You probably saw that if you followed my Instagram stories 🙂

Breakfast was included with our room and the restaurant is located on the roof on the 7th floor. It was buffet style with normal breakfast options that you’d find anywhere, like eggs, pastries, cereals, meats and cold cuts. There were some cool Greek options as well. The highlight of breakfast tho was the amazing view of the Acropolis.

Athens Royal Olympic Hotel Bottom Line:

The hotel’s location is amazing! Everything that you need to see is pretty much within a 20 min walking radius. Athens beaches are a 25 min cab ride away. The hotel staff is friendly, the room is very comfortable and the breakfast selection was satisfying and tasty. The hotel is reasonably priced, you can get a room for as low as $150 per night and hopefully you get a free upgrade too 😉
