Hilton HHonors Gold Status is Now a Benefit of The AMEX Platinum Card

Without prior announcements, AMEX is now offering free Hilton HHonors Gold status for Platinum card holders. Every now and then I would check out the Benefits page on my AMEX Platinum card, and to my pleasant surprise I see HHonors Gold as a benefit I haven’t seen before.

It would normally take 20 stays, 40 nights or 75,000 HHonors Base Points in a calendar year to earn HHonors Gold.

What are the benefits of Hilton HHonors Gold Status?

• 25% ELITE STATUS BONUS With Gold elite status, you automatically receive a 25% bonus on all the HHonors Base Points you earn.
• 5^th night free on Standard Room Reward stays of 5 nights or more.
• Complimentary in-room and lobby Standard Internet access.
• Late check-out. (Based on availability)
• Two complimentary bottles of water per stay.
• Space-available upgrade to a preferred room at Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Hilton and DoubleTree hotels. And 1,000 HHonors Bonus Points per stay  or  a complimentary continental breakfast for you and up to one additional guest registered to the same room each day of your stay at Conrad, Hilton and DoubleTree hotels.

Bottom Line:

Even though these benefits don’t seem super lucrative, it’s not a bad deal when all you have to is log into your AMEX account, add you HHonors account number and click enroll.
