The Chase Hyatt Credit Card

I applied for the Chase Hyatt Credit Card a few weeks ago because it has a great sign-up bonus. I figured I write a post about it for a couple of reasons. First, to add a “data point” that the Chase Hyatt Credit Card doesn’t fall under Chase’s strict 5/24 ruleChase generally doesn’t approve people for certain credit cards if they’ve applied for more than five credit cards in the past 24 months. At the time of my application a few weeks ago I was well over 5 credit card in the last 24 months; more like 20 credit cards 🙂

The other reason I wanted to write about this card is it’s amazing benefits.

The Chase Hyatt Credit Card:

  • Earn 2 free nights at Hyatt hotels, worldwide after you make $1,000 in purchases in the first 3 months after account opening.
    • This is a great bonus since you can use these nights at ANY Hyatt hotel in the world. I just used my 2 free nights to book an upcoming stay at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. Otherwise these two nights would’ve cost me $329/night (that’s $658 savings)
  • Get 5,000 bonus points after you add an authorized user to your account and make a purchase with your card during the first 3 months as a card member.
    • Free nights start at 5,000 points per night or 2,500 + $50 with the Points + Cash option

Bottom Line:

The Chase Hyatt Credit Card is a great card to add to your wallet and have for long term. Luckily, this card doesn’t fall under the Chase 5/24 – yet. Earning Platinum status for just holding the card is a great perk as well. Overall, I don’t see why you wouldn’t add this card to your portfolio. As long as you pay off all your credit cards on time
