Citi Prestige Bonus Might Change

It’s no doubt that the Citi Prestige is my favorite card out there right now. However, Ben from One Mile at a Time reports that the Citi Prestige bonus might change this Tuesday 7/19/16. This is more of a reason why I would recommend applying for the card sooner rather than later. There’s no guarantee as to what will happen to the bonus, but there’s little doubt that it will decrease. Earlier this year we saw the Citi Premier bonus go from 50K to 40K to now ZERO!

The Citi Prestige card has an annual fee of $450 that is NOT waived for the first year. However, it is still an amazing card to hold for at least 1 year due to the many benefits it provides.

One of the benefits that might change this Tuesday is the sign-up bonus. It is currently at 50,000 ThankYou points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months. This is worth at least $800 if used to book flights on American Airlines through Citi’s travel portal.

If the anticipated change results in eliminating the sign-up bonus, that would be a huge blow to the card. However, the cards benefits are still amazing and almost too good to be true. This is why if you’re thinking of getting this card, NOW is the best time to apply.

Here’s a quick reminder of the many reasons to apply now:

Bottom Line

So why get Citi Prestige now? I truly believe this is the most well rounded credit card in the market right now and should be of great value for anyone for at least the first year. If you apply now, you can use the $250 airfare credit before the end of the year and use it again in 2016 since this is a calendar year benefit and not a membership year benefit. You can also receive $100 back after you apply for Global Entry or TSA Pre ✔ and pay for the fee using your prestige card. So essentially you get $600 in statement credit and pay $450 fee for the first year. You’re already up $150 without counting the 50,000 bonus ThankYou® Points or how many free 4th night stays at hotels you’ll enjoy.

This is a no brainer card for me!

Are you going to get the Citi Prestige soon?
