Amex Platinum Adds $100 Annual Credit at Saks Fifth Avenue

The Platinum Card from American Express is one of my favorite if not my favorite premium credit card. The card comes with a ton of benefits that more than justify the high $550 annual fee. And now it adds another benefit; the Amex Platinum adds $100 annual credit at Saks Fifth Avenue starting July 1st.

Here are the benefits the Amex Platinum already offers:

• $200 annual airline credit
• $200 annual Uber credit
• $100 Global Entry credit
• Hilton Honor Gold Status
• SPG Gold Status
• Access to Amex Centurion Lounges
• Acess to Delta Skyclubs when flying Delta
• Priority Pass membership

A few details on the new $100 annual credit at Saks Fifth Avenue:

• You’ll receive up to $100 in credits per calendar year — one $50 credit will be available each January through June, while a second $50 credit will be available each July through December
• There’s no minimum spend requirement beyond the $50
• The credit can be used online or in-store
• You will need to register for this benefit, registrations will open on July 1, 2018
• This benefit is only for the personal Platinum Card and all it’s versions. Not available on the business version.
• Make the purchase on your eligible card and you’ll get a statement credit within 2-4 weeks

I know that Saks prices are generally very high, this benefit is not all that if you’re looking to buy Balencaiga dad shoes (I still don’t get those:)). However, there are plenty of items that are around the $50 price point. I’ll definitely take full advantage of this benefit.

Bottom Line:

The Amex Platinum Card from American Express keeps getting better and better. This effectively brings down the annual fee to $30… INCREDIBLE!

$550 – $200 (Airline Credit) – $200 (Uber Credit) – ($100 Saks Credit) – ($20 Global Entry credit; $100 every 5 years) = $30
