After a 5 hour ferry ride from Athens, we arrived at this peaceful oasis of a hotel called San Antonio Santorini Hotel. Located about a 35 min drive from Santorini’s Athinios Port, San Antonio hotel is pretty easy to get to. The hotel is isolated on the Santorini caldera and is only a 10 min drive from Oia on one side and 15 min drive from Fira the other side. Once you enter the hotel’s lobby, you feel like you entered a spa. Everything looks fresh, clean, relaxing and smells great 🙂
I know this blog is about miles and points but I like to review other hotels that are not affiliated with points like Hyatt, SPG, Hilton or other chains because in certain locations you can find much better options than those. And this hotel is definitely one I’d like to review here. (This is not an ad or sponsorship)
At the reception, the friendly staff took our passports and asked us to relax in the lounge area while they finish the paper work. As we waited we were offered this amazingly delicious ice lemonade. We enjoyed the drink outside overlooking the incredible infinity pool.
A few minutes later we were asked to follow the lovely lady who will escort us to our room and we were told they have a surprise for us……… We were upgraded (again)!!! We got the Honeymoon Suite, which ranks in the top 5 rooms I’ve ever stayed in.
Through the doors is our private terrace that had a dining table with two chairs. Two bean lounge chairs. A large lounge chair attached to the wall.
A private outdoor Jacuzzi.
Through the second set of doors is our room…. it’s huge!
A comfortable king size bed.
A living room.
Dining area.
Really nice and large bathroom. I was a bit weirded out by the open shower/tub area but I got over it pretty quickly.
Soon after we settled in, our luggage arrived and along with it a complimentary bottle of wine and a fruit basket.
The next morning we woke up early and headed down to get breakfast. The restaurant has an amazing view of the caldera and the sea.
The breakfast selection was great and everything was delicious.
San Antonio Santorini Hotel Bottom Line:
The San Antonio Santorini Hotel is absolutely incredible. Everything from the room, service to the food, location and amenities. It’s the perfect hotel for a relaxing Santorini vacation. It’s also located very close to where all the action is in Oia and Fira. You can easily drive to Oia to see the famous blue domes, enjoy fancy dinners and watch the world famous sunsets. On the other side, Fira is also close for the busy night life. This hotel is one of my favorites!
