Chase Freedom Fourth Quarter 5X Cash Back – Register Now

You can now activate your Chase Freedom fourth quarter 5X Cash Back at Drugstores, Department Stores and Wholesale Clubs (such as Costco, BJs and Sams Club). Although you can activate now, the promotion kicks in on October 1st and you have until December 31st to earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in these categories.

Keep in mind that Costco started accepting Visa cards a few months ago after they switched from American Express to Citi bank. Even though Costco’s deal is with Citi Bank; any Visa card is now accepted. This makes the Chase Freedom card a great card to use while shopping at Costco. Chase is taking advantage of this switch by extending their 5X cash back category at wholesale clubs from the 2nd quarter this year all the way through the end of 2016!

Remember:

The Freedom card is a great sidekick to the Chase Sapphire Preferred and the new Chase Sapphire Reserve card because it allows you to combine your points and then transfer them to airline and hotel programs which gives you better value per point. If you use the points for cash back, you’ll only get 1 cent/point in value. However, when you redeem your points for travel with Ultimate Rewards transfer partners, you can get a much higher value per point.

Having a $0 annual fee card like the Freedom card is not only great for how rewarding it is. It is also great for your credit score. Since it is a $0 fee card, you can keep it open forever which increases the average age of your accounts. This is one of the fundamental factors that affect your credit score.
