EARN 100K BONUS AADVANTAGE MILES

American Airlines offers several bonuses when purchasing AAdvantage Miles like this one back in October and this one from March. Right now you can earn 100K bonus AAdvantage miles plus 10% off your purchase.

As per American, through July 8, save up to 10% when you buy or gift American Airlines AAdvantage® miles. Plus, you’ll earn up to 100,000 bonus miles when you buy miles for yourself, or add up to 100,000 bonus miles to your purchase when you gift miles to a friend or loved one. That’s a total of up to 250,000 miles.

The bonus is built on tier based system where the more miles you buy, the higher the bonus you receive. If you max out this offer you can end up with 250,000 Aadvantage miles for $4,311. That’s enough miles for two roundtrip flights to Asia in business class, a trip that would normally cost anywhere between $4,000 to $7,000 if not more.

The terms and conditions of the offer:

To be eligible for a discount AAdvantage members must purchase 11,000 AAdvantage miles or more in a single transaction from the Buy or Gift Miles program beginning 7:00:00am CT on June 13, 2016 to 11:59:59pm CT on July 8, 2016. The prices shown include the discount. The discount applies to the AAdvantage miles purchased and does not apply towards taxes or the $30 transaction processing fee. AAdvantage members must purchase at least 11,000 AAdvantage miles or more in a single transaction from the Buy or Gift Miles program beginning 7:00:00am CT on June 13, 2016 to 11:59:59 pm CT July 29, 2016, to be eligible for bonus miles. The bonus miles earned are calculated based on each individual purchase amount and the corresponding bonus award. Bonus miles earned do not count toward the annual purchase limits. The applicable bonus miles are awarded to the recipient for Gift Miles transactions.

The miles purchased with the Buy Miles program and received with the Gift Miles program do not count towards AAdvantage Gold, AAdvantage Platinum, AAdvantage Executive Platinum or AAdvantage Million Miler^SM status qualification. Transactions are nonrefundable and nonreversible. The miles successfully purchased or transferred will post to the designated account immediately. Each AAdvantage member is limited to purchasing or receiving in a calendar year, a combined total of no more than 150,000 AAdvantage miles. Miles purchased through the Buy Miles program or received as a gift through the Gift Miles program count against this total. A confirmation email will be sent to the primary buyer/gifter and/or recipient, using the email address(es) associated with the AAdvantage account(s) and any additional email address provided. AAdvantage accounts less than 30 days old are not permitted to Buy or Gift Miles. The price of your purchase is in U.S. dollars. Your credit card company may add a currency conversion fee.

Bottom Line:

As I always say, when it comes to purchasing miles, although this seems to be a good deal to top off your AAdvantage account, I can’t encourage buying miles unless you have a use for them within the next few months. Given how amazing this offer is, if you have any long haul trip within the next 11 months on which you can redeem AAdvantage miles, pull the trigger and buy enough miles to get you that redemption. Since this puchase will be processed directly by American Airlines, make sure you buy these miles with a credit card that offers bonus points on travel categories like the Citi Presige, Premier Rewards Gold from Amex, Citi Premier or Chase Sapphire Preferred. You can also get the airline statement credit from the Citi Prestige or the Amex Platinum on this purchase.
